About WAIT

WAIT is a community based organization dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness in the District of Columbia. Our mission is to provide support and resources to individuals and families in need. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of those facing homelessness and aim to create a positive impact in our community.


We believe in the power of community and collaboration to create lasting change. Through our various programs and initiatives, we strive to address the root causes of homelessness and work towards sustainable solutions. Join us in our mission to bring hope and support to those in need.

WAIT MISSION STATEMENT 

 

WAIT actively champions for the dignity and hope of individuals experiencing homelessness in the nation's capital through immediate and impactful support. We drive systemic change by prioritizing action and fostering deep community involvement. WAIT (Why Am I Talking?) encourages real change to happen as we move away from talking to doing because, We’re All In This Together.

Owner and Operator

Ryan

Ryan is a certified peer specialist and the founder of WAIT, Inc. He is dedicated to connecting individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and mental health challenges to essential resources. Outside of his frontline advocacy work, Ryan enjoys writing, making YouTube content, and spending time with his family.

Program Manager and Website Management

jaime

Jaime is a California transplant who has made Washington, DC her home for the past 20 years. She has spent 15 of those years doing what she loves--working for the National Gallery of Art. When she isn't working, Jaime enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Volunteer & Social Media Manager

jack

Jack is a current Washington, DC high school student who enjoys running and spending time with friends. When he isn't in school, Jack volunteers his time passing out lunches, photographing events, and managing W.A.I.T.'s social media presence.
