At WAIT, we believe that building a stronger community means showing up for the people who need a helping hand.

Today, WAIT had the opportunity to organize a community outreach event at Eastern Market, where our team, along with family and friends, came together to provide meals to members of our unhoused community. What began as a planned afternoon of service turned into an incredibly meaningful and successful event.

Thanks to the generosity of DC Food for All and &pizza at Barracks Row, we were able to distribute approximately 50–70 bagged lunches to people throughout the Eastern Market area. Our volunteers spent the afternoon handing out meals, connecting with members of the community, and, most importantly, sharing a little kindness and compassion.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day possible.

A Special Thank You

DC Food for All — thank you for your generous donation of bagged lunches and for helping us make sure that more people in our community had access to a meal.

&pizza at Barracks Row — thank you for your

generous contribution and for partnering with us to support our neighbors in need.

And a huge thank you to all of the WAIT family, friends, and volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the event a success. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and serve others is what community is all about.

We were proud to be able to serve approximately 50–70 people, but the experience reminded us that community outreach isn't only about the number of meals distributed. It's about recognizing our neighbors, treating everyone with dignity, and letting people know that they matter.

WAIT is proud to support initiatives that bring people together and make a positive difference in the communities we serve. We look forward to continuing to find ways to give back.

Thank you to DC Food for All, &pizza at Barracks Row, our volunteers, and everyone who helped make this day possible. Together, we can make a difference—one meal and one neighbor at a time.
